How laser treatment works
- Consultation and assessment. We assess your skin tone, hair color and treatment area, discuss your goals, and determine whether laser is a suitable option. A patch test may be part of that assessment.
- Your treatment plan. We discuss the sessions and spacing that fit your hair growth and treatment needs. An initial series may involve six to eight sessions, commonly four to eight weeks apart; the plan is individual.
- Treatment. Laser energy targets pigment in the hair. Your practitioner selects appropriate settings for your assessment and treatment area.
- Ongoing reduction. Results build across sessions. Hair and skin characteristics affect outcomes; laser is described as permanent hair reduction rather than a guarantee of removing every hair.
Laser, electrolysis, or both?
Laser and electrolysis work differently. Laser relies on pigment in the hair; electrolysis treats individual follicles and can be used with hair colors that are unsuitable for laser.
Many clients use both approaches at different stages. We can help you understand the options for your hair, skin and goals.
Electrolysis or laser?
Point of Pride offers an independent explanation of the differences, including how hair color, skin tone and your goals can affect the choice.

The monthly subscription is our self-pay offer. If you are seeking medically necessary care using insurance, follow the insurance guide so we can review coverage and any required authorization.
